I was a Paulini fan during the Oz Idol competition and believe she might have done better at WI than guy did because of the type of performer she is but I'm a bit of a Guy fan now.
I would prefer to see more personality, more individuality coming from Paulini. We know she can perform but is that enough?

What is wrong with Paulini's personality? Seems fine to me. What should she do different - take her clothes off on stage? Head butt punters in the audience - go up and grab their hands like the Strangler and Shannonoke did - as he cut them off just before they reached the EXIT.

Taryn N, Can't understand how you could consider Paulini's performances "boring" - kind of a contradiction - one hand you recognise her fantastic voice - how could that ever be boring? If that is boring then Paulini can bore me to death any day. The boring aspect lies within your own outlook on life and perception of passion. PINKLINE The reason you can't understand why is because we are two different people. If everyone was the same, it would be a boring world. For me, the performer has to atleast have a good voice + move around a bit/ interact with the audience, otherwise after a while I just feel like tuning out. Paulini did do that a few times, but not as much as some others did.

I hope I haven't offended. Her shyness almost gave some bad impressions at times. Should I have said, charisma? I'm sorry but there was just something that she doesn't have yet - she wasn't alone.

I hope I haven't offended. Her shyness almost gave some bad impressions at times. I think this was the worst problem for Paulini... the other top 3 had very distinct personalities... Guy and Shannon made theirs known through the Inside Idol episodes and Cosima through her fansite. Paulini was quiet and reserved everywhere... it was hard to find out who she was and it was amazing that she got as far as she did on a show like Idol, which is strongly based on personality when you think about it (think Millsy). She seems like a nice, but private person. She did have the most magical voice, but I don't think the whole 'loss of private life' thing that comes with winning AI would have been good for her. I'm just surprised that no-one's snapped her up yet.

I definitely think Paulini's voice is awesome but she also seems to lack something to make her performances that little bit better. I certainly hope she does find it though, cos then she'd be unstoppable.

Oh, Paulini. What a performer. Beautiful voice, highly talented, highly enjoyable to listen to, highly professional, highly arrogant... If only she hadn't been so up herself, I would have supported her until the end.

No one could argue that Paulini doesn't have a fantastic voice. Most of her performances were flawless in terms of singing. But I have to agree Fabulous singing does not necessarily equal a fabulous performance.
Her lack of a "big" personality did let her down in idol though. It should have been her and Guy in the final two. Then I would have been in a quandry as to who to vote for.
Is there no news of any kind of record contract for her?

Colonoscopy,
How did you arrive at your stunning "informed" conclusion that Paulini was "up herself"? You deserved a full colonic flush out with a fire hose for that JEALOUS splodge.
PINKLINE
And to the others who disagree - well that's fine but you're ALL WRONG and NO you're not even entitled to an opinion why should you be if you're obviously in error.
So I guess according to the illogic on offer here - Paulini should have clapped her hands and got the audience involved and hi fived the front row whilst singing Summertime. As the world's foremost music critic I can say that you guys have a lot to learn about the art of singing and performance. PAULINI was robbed, is the best and I will continue to support this FACT.

I think Paulini has an amazing voice. Whilst Guy, Shannon and Cosima all had amazing voices, Paulini's was definently a step above the rest. As for her performances I can think of numerous where she moved around the stage and didn't stand still. (don't leave me this way, survivor, almost like being in love, freeway of love). I think the likes of Guy, Cosima and even Milsy and Levi (who I'm not huge fans off- ie Levi and Milsy) probably put the most effort into their performances, but Paulini definently didn't dissapoint me in terms of her performance style
