I thought Aussie's were nice people. I am from the US and came here to tell you all I loved Guy and wished him well. I couldn't believe he finished that low. He should have been in at least the top 3.
I just finished reading some of this board and I just have an ugly taste in my mouth. You guys are just mean! I can not believe the things you are saying about a sweet and talented girl like Kelly and a talented guy like Kurt.
This will be my last post here, but you should really think about what you are doing to Guy. You made me not want to like him. They always say fans are a reflection of the star they love.
Oh well, good luck Guy...you will need it with fans like these.

I am sorry that you now have this image of Australia guest. I became interested in Australian idol because Shannon Noll who became our runner-up was from my childhood home of Condobolin. During the show I was amazed at two things: the depth of talent that was revealed and the ugliness of many of Guy's fans. You could not support another artist unless you were accused of racism, stupidity or musical ignorance. Yet they displayed intolerance of any other type of music, bigotry about rural Australians and Italians and an inability to recognise any imperfection in Guy's performance and if they were ever forced to do so they could always find someone else to blame. I have stayed on this site reading posts to try and understand what was happening. Your comment that fans reflect the artist made me think about it in a different way so thanks. Guy appears a nice guy so where does the arrogance come from - is it because he is from a religious fundamentalist group - now I am sounding bigoted - it is time to leave.

This is just crazy.
Please don't base your feelings about Guy on a pack of 15 year olds venting via a web forum!
I feel from your post that you are more mature than that and should be able to see through what this forum is about which unfortunately in some instances is a lot of young people (who have no life experience) -voicing what they believe are their priorities in life ie, looks etc.
There are some good people on hear that are a reflection of Guy. Guy is about touching people in a positive way through his music, which he loves.
If you can not see through the garb and hear and see what a gift Guy is, then I am sure he would not want you as a fan.
Very, very sad.

I agree with the original post...bagging out Kelly Clarkson simply because she is the resident American is immature and disappointing. I think we were all surprised and annoyed to see how the Pan-Arabic votes came out, which seemed to follow political trends and had Guy right down the bottom...but at the same time we are writing Kelly off as a snobby, self-indulged American. And in turn-people write Guy off because of the way we act. How about judging people by their actual performance, which, forgive me, is what this competition is supposedly about? However...to any Americans on the board, try not to take it too seriously. Deep down we love America...you brought us The Simpsons, so we are forever in your debt. I think everyone is half joking anyay...

For sure, there are people like that all over the world. You can't form your judgments about someone based on what other people are saying. Likewise - basing your opinion of Australians on a minority isn't fair. Most of us Australians are nice people!
No matter how much you try and tell people that what they are saying is horrible and unfounded it doesn't sink in.
I've read posts saying similarly disturbing things about Guy on another forums. You should read it and move on, or better yet not read it at all. There's a reason people do it and it's to start arguments. They want to get you all angry so you'll argue with them. Hopefully if we ignore them enough they'll get the picture

I honestly dont see why people say stuff like that about Kelly. I don't know much about her personality, but she does seem really nice and pretty friendly. I have her album - also really cool.

Unfortunately as it is in forums all over the net about almost any topic, there is always one or two that love the sound of their own keyboard and say all sorts of hurtful comments because they can hide behind their computer screen.
I think all the idols should be recognised for their achievements and Kelly has certainly proved her worth on the world charts as I'm sure the others with time and experience.
If you didn't like the competition and they way it was run, that is one thing, attacking the performers .. not neccessary.
I didn't like Peter's song as I am not a rock fan. However, he did perform it well for that genre and it by no means makes him a target of critisism, simply because I don't like rock.
I love Guy, but I have to say, even as a firm Aussie supporter, he wasn't the best on the night. I think the arrangement and the song did lack world wide appeal. 'When doves Cry,' may have had better world appeal and recognition.
Kurt used his voice, which is an absolute gem, to it's greatest advantage by choosing a song he could nail, and a song from a band that does have Global appeal.

Guy has never had a bad word to say about anyone and it is so sad that a small handful of his young fans are showing us in a bad light.
They obviously haven't got Guy's message yet - positivity, joy and love towards others.

I am sorry that you had to come here and read such ignorant posts. They are just the small minority of immature and childish people with nothing better to do. Most Australians are not like this. Please do not let this differ your views about us. I hope that this gets a message to them: to wake up! On a brighter side, I would just like to say that I am a Kelly fan. I think she is a brilliant singer and she has a powerful voice, which is what I like. I voted for her in WI I wish her continued success.
