I don't like Dicko at all and think he's a hypocrite. He was interviewed on 'Today Tonight' saying that Kurt was 'attractive' (yes, he slipped!!) and that his daughters and wife voted for Kurt. How stupid is that?? Real hypocrite indeed !! Still wondering what Guy was thinking when he decided to sing that song and Dicko who went along, didn't see it like we all do, that the arrangement for the song was not going to get the people's votes!!! Am I alone or does anybody thinks the same?

Actually, no, I don't think he was a hypocrite.
He said at the show he liked Kurt. And it is obvious that once the public get to have their say, any judges opinions count for diddly squat anyway. They ALL really liked Guy's singing... remember?
AND... unless his family is still in the UK... they COULDN'T have voted for Guy, now could they?
A lot of fuss was made about Dicko, but I think he was a very 'real' judge. While his comments weren't overly sensitive, I don't think he was performing. I think they were exactly the type of thing he would have said to the artists off camera too. He wasn't being mean for mean's sake... he told us what he thought... good, bad and ugly (grimace).

I think he meant "attractive" as in appealing...Kurt is not what I would call attractive in a physical sense, but it adds to his character, and makes him more appealing I think. Who wants to see yet another blonde haired blue eyed pretty boy? No one.

Yeah, Dicko DID say on the show he liked Kurt and that he was appealing in the sense that he had an honesty about him which he liked. That makes someone attractive, but not in a physical way obviously

I would agree the the concensus here about "attractive".
I know I was saying to my partner that Kurt sure didn't look like he sounds. I think that is what the voting public liked so much, he wasn't your steroetypical "popstar".
Come to think of it, neither are some of the legends.. Mike Jagger, Billy Joel, Elton John just to name a few.
Also the fact that some of the Idols have been around, performing and stars in their own right could have tipped the scales either for or against them.
One could go on and on about the holes in the competition, the judges, the editing etc etc
What comes down to it is that those that voted, voted for what they like.

I also saw Dicko's interview. God that interviewer lady was pissing me off she kept cutting him off while he was trying to talk. He was proud of Guy and obviously wanted Guy to win, to the reality was that Kurt won and Dicko was just saying that he thought that Kurt was talented and when he said attractive he didn't mean physically, he emant attractive to the audience watching him. He's not a hypocrite because his wife and kids chose to vote for Kurt, that just goes to show that he's not the only one in the family to recognise real talent ;D

i actually like dicko..i mean he was harsh on the contestants on the show (both AI & WI) but really he did say things that were tru.. he was speaking wat he thought and unlike that simon cowell dude who was really mean and rude dicko was the normal dicko back in australia. he can be mean but i think he speaks wat he feels so good on him at least hi's not rude like the us and polish judge who called ppl ugly and loser.. dont get me wrong im not saying that he's comments on the other contestants was ryt but im just saying he speaks wat he thinks

well i dunno y but i never for some reason hated dicko for what he sed to ne1 i just thought he was halarious and real cool and all the ppl @ my school hated him for bieng mean but i neva reckon he was and i would alwayz tell everyone dat i reckoned dicko was real cool and then slowly everyone started agreeing with me coz they saw what i was talkin about and i don't really reckon that even the polish or the U.S judge were that bad but they were mean i have to admit they could've sed things in a nicer more un-hurtful way coz some ppl get offended it really depends on the ppl coz some ppl are different and more sensitive and some ppl like the ones that have the attidude they don't really care what ppl say so they should really look at the person then say whatever they want to them like me if i was up there and they cept on offending me then i wouldn't give a crap coz i dun care what ppl say so yeah do ya's get what i mean??

I liked the australian judge, he seemed to comment on the performances of each contestant. I also liked the Belgian judge, who also did that, there were a bit to much nationality in the panel, the only one who didn't keep bragging his own contestant above all others were actually crazy polish dude, not that it made me like him, but it were easy to see that his favourite were Peter, and I think a judge should say what he means about the performers, not other judges. The entire judging were a laughing matter mainly, not something people listened to in order to figure out what they like.

There's nothing wrong with Dicko - he came across as one of the intelligent, polite people out of this whole sham.

Yes indeed - otherwise known as forty eight litres of Carlton Draught. Dicko was fine - the Troika of judges was great - the crazy Polish judge, Dicko and Shy Man Scowl.
