but in fact he said that he was 'the only country Australian" in the competition. That is obviously true - I am fairly sure that none of the other contestants lived out on a farm like Shannon. Pete the pig farmer did! Either way, just cos someone lives on a farm does not make them more or less Australian, and certainly not more deserving to win as singing competition. And I don't think Shannon ever implied that it did. Nor did I ever hear him bring up details about his family situation when speaking about who was going to or deserved to win the competion. The media of course managed to whip up a sob story defnece, and debate "who was the most Australian", but that wasn't Shannons doing. Just as people managed to come up with the idea of Guy representing a multicultural Australia, but I never heard Guy mention that even once.

Shannon will be top 5 at least if he sings in the world idol. Guy, maybe he would have done a lot better if he sings "climb every mountain" or 'I'll be there.

If Shannon was in World Idol he would have come last!
His high pitched squealing australiana voice sounds like a cat being strangled.
We would have been the big joke instead of Germany.
Maybe Pan-Arabs would have voted him first, hee hee
Go back to the RSL where you belong Shannon!

Amazing - I just heard Shannonoke singing "What about Millsy" on the radio. Sounded not too bad although I think the song is insincere and putrid.

Pinkline, re your comments "Chad Morgan was the quintessential Australian", my father told me that there was a weekly amateur contest show ON THE RADIO - and whenever Chad Morgan was on, he won.
Then when he went on the road with this act, he was naturally accepted even more widely, for being so different with those amazing faces he could pull. Yay, Australia is about a lot more than a pretty face.

Wow - I've got this great Chad CD "Sheilas, Drongoes and Dills" or something like that.....coarse, low class but very funny - The Sheik from Scrubby Creek, I'm My Own Grandpa, Thrashin' Machine.
Read a Chad interview in the Herald one day - one of the funniest interviews I've ever read.

Ok listen to me. SHannon has a voice that is unique and manages to connect with people. Guy may have a super voice but really it just has no zing like shannons. Guy represented our country very well and im sure that shannon would have also.

Shannon has an OK limited voice - it is NOT great by any stretch of a foreskin.
Paulini on the other hand DOES have a great Australian voice.
