i found this online:
Australian Idol Auditions Saturday, May 08 2004, 8:30 AM - Sunday, May 09 2004 Event Details The sensational television series AUSTRALIAN IDOL returns to Network TEN in 2004. AUSTRALIAN IDOL created Australian television history last year by becoming one of the highest rating entertainment programmes ever. The show catapulted the winner, Guy Sebastian, to superstardom. Guy and runner up, Shannon Noll, have also made Australian music history, as the biggest selling new Australian artists. Their début singles and albums went straight to No.1. Other AUSTRALIAN IDOL Contestants have begun careers in recording, television, radio and film. You, too, can “live the dream”! If you believe that you can perform as a solo vocal artist, come along to one of our auditions. You could receive a record deal with BMG RECORDS, an Artist Management Contract and a Merchandising and Sponsorship Contract, setting you on the path to stardom! Auditions commence at 8.30AM. Be early so that you don’t miss out!
Unfortunately, auditions are limited. Once we have reached our daily capacity, auditions will close.
However, a further audition day may be announced at each venue subject to demand.
So please keep yourself available an extra day because you could be the next AUSTRALIAN IDOL.

• Prepare a verse and chorus from a song of your choice
• Dress to impress as you may only get one chance to shine in front of our judges
• Bring a friend or parent if you need moral support
• Bring your own light refreshments / snacks as it could be a long day
• Catch public transport to the venue
