Hey Guys how are you doing i have just been to a one day conference on World Poverty and am all fired up and excited about what's happeneing out there. I thought you might be interested in the MICAH CHALLENGE (christian ) and the FAIR SHARE CAMPAIGN(non christian based) campaigns. Both campaigns aim to I/2 world poverty by 2015 this is soooo exciting by increasing poverty focused aid, reducing third world debt and creating fairer trade. TO MAKE POVERTY HISTORY 190 countries have got together with the UN and developed 8 Millenium Development Goals aimed to 1/2 world poverty by 2015 the goals Goal 1 eradicate extreme poverty and hunger Goal 2 Achieve universal primary education Goal 3 promote gender equality and empowerment Goal 4 reduce child mortality Goal 5 improve maternal health Goal 6 Combar hiv/aids and other diseases Goal 7 ensure environmental sustainability Goal 8 Develop a global partnership for development - including fairer trade, debt relief, and better aid. Micahchallenge is a global campaign to mobilise Christrians to raise a prophectic and powerful vioce for and with the poor. It aims to deepen Christian Commitment to the poor, and to influence leaders of all nations to fulfil their public promise to achieve Millenium Development Goals www.miachchallenge.org.au go to this site and sign up to support this. Fair share campiagn ( everyone) www.acfid.asn.au/fairshare.htmI have petitions which i will bring with me to meeting and can send to anyone who is interested. This is truely an oppurtunity to change the world and i would encourage you to check out the site .Nelson Mandala has said that poverty like apartied is a manmade condition which we can do something about. Wow Ive just read over the last few pages. I sat with Reg while she found the material to BASE the kits on, she never said they were going to be sent through umcor. I was at that vigil, and reg NEVER said that. Also me Val reg adn jess spent quite a while putting together the first kits and establishing what was still needed, so I can assure you the health kits are still in full motion. Its unfourtunate that Linsu and LD felt that they needed to attempt to undermine the great work that reg and the rest of the team are doing. My only response is, if you dont like it, then dont be apart of it. But you are missing out on changing peoples lives. This isnt about us. This is about a group of children that dont have a house to call home, or anyone to call mummy and daddy. Please focus on the task at hand rather that selfish means. We have a lot of support for PS, lets keep focused and acheive amazing things for those kids!! Loadsa Love Bex Bex I was not going to answer any more post on this but feel that I must. At no time was it or is it my intention to try to undermine Project Starfish or put down the work being done by everyone concerned. I joined this project because I also wanted to help the children and not for any selfish means (whatever you seem to think that could be) I simply asked for some answers to concerns I had about the distribution of the kits. If I misunderstood that they were going through UMCOR then I am happy to admit that this was my mistake & purely a misunderstanding. I am more that happy for kits to go to the orphanage & the surrounding community but just feel that this should have been made clearer from the begining, not because I don't want them to go to the community, but so that when we request donations from people we can say that they are going to both the orphanage & surrounding community. People like to know just where their donations are going.I do however feel that in my posts I had every right to defend the personnal attacks made against me. I still say that I have a right to ask questions about things that concern me. If I have it wrong then the executive have the right to reply to clear up any misconceptions I may have by answering these questions. I hope that the personnal attacks here can now stop & we can move forward to work for the good of the children & community. I have always been a supporter of this project and continue to be.

FFORGIVENESS
Once upon a time two brothers who lived on adjoining farms fell into conflict. It was the first serious rift in 40 years of farming. Side by side, sharing machinery, and trading labor and goods as needed, without a hitch.
Then the long collaboration fell apart. It began with a small misunderstanding and it grew into a major difference. Finally it exploded into an exchange of bitter words followed by weeks of silence.
One morning there was a knock on John's door. He opened it to find a man with a carpenter's toolbox. "I'm looking for a few days work" he said. "Perhaps you would have a few small jobs here and there. Could I help you?"
"Yes," said the older brother. "I do have a job for you. Look across the creek at that farm. That's my neighbor, in fact, it's my younger brother. Last week there was a meadow between us and he took his bulldozer to the river levee and now there is a creek between us.
Well, he may have done this to spite me, but I'll go him one better. See that pile of lumber curing by the barn? I want you to build me a fence, an 8-foot fence, so I won't need to see his place anymore. Cool him down, anyhow."
The carpenter said, "I think I understand the situation. Show me the nails and the post-hole digger and I'll be able to do a job that pleases you."
The older brother had to go to town for supplies, so he helped the carpenter get the materials ready and then he was off for the day. The carpenter worked hard all that day measuring, sawing, nailing. About sunset when the farmer returned, the carpenter had just finished his job.
The farmer's eyes opened wide, his jaw dropped. There was no fence there at all. It was a bridge, a bridge stretching from one side of the creek to the other! A fine piece of work, handrails and all and the neighbor, his younger brother, was coming across, his hand outstretched. "You are quite a fellow to build this bridge after all I've said and done."
The two brothers met at the middle of the bridge, taking each other's hand. They turned to see the carpenter hoist his toolbox on his shoulder. "No, wait! Stay a few days. I've a lot of other projects for you," said the older brother. "I'd love to stay on,"
The carpenter said, "but I have so many more bridges to build."
