For the contestants to sing from the 80's?? As sad as it sounds (well the 80's era itself was pretty much sadd) I'd like to hear some Milli Vanilli... and I was thinking Cindy Lauper but her voice was just a bit too out there for our contestants. I can imagine hearing Cosima sing some Tina Turner. Yeah.. so show us what you got all you oldies - I'm not much of an 80's child myself.

Pinkline, you crack me up! Here are my (serious) suggestions for 80s songs. (Stand by for some less serious suggestions.)
Millsy: I think Marcia made a good suggestion when she said 'sing to the girls', and with that in mind I'd like to see Rob sing Wham's 'Careless Whisper' -- I know his voice is nowhere near as good as George Michael's, but I'd like to see him have a go. Or maybe he could try 'Addicted to Love' by the late Robert Palmer.
Paulini: my god, this woman is a goddess and I think she could make anything sound good. I'd LOVE to hear her take on 'Stop' by Sam Brown.
Shannon: 'Tucker's Daughter' by Ian Moss would be a good choice, or perhaps he should get away from Australian songs and do something like 'Hurts So Good' by John Cougar Mellencamp.
Levi: Maybe 'Sign Your Name' by Terence Trent d'Arby? I don't know if he's up to it vocally, though.
Cosima: I love this woman and I reckon she'd do a great job with 'Love is a Battlefield' by Pat Benatar.
Guy: Hmmm, tough one. It'd be good to see him try something funky like 'Abracadabra' by the Steve Miller Band.
P.S. Here are the 80s songs I DON'T want to hear on Australian Idol -- or anywhere else, ever again.
9 to 5 (Morning Train) -- Sheena Easton I've Never Been to Me -- Charlene Total Eclipse of the Heart -- Bonnie Tyler The Power of Love -- Jennifer Rush We Built This City -- Starship Wind Beneath My Wings -- Bette Midler

I'd like to hear Paulini show Sara-Marie how The Pointer Sisters' I'm So Excited *should* go.
Cosima could do Diana Ross' Chain Reaction.
If Rob really wanted to follow Marcia's advice, he could drag out Samantha Fox's Touch Me
Guy could do something really interesting with Fairground Attraction's Perfect
If Shannon was bored of life in the house, Down on the Border would be a good way to get out.
As much as I'd laugh if Levi did Stutter Rap by Morris Minor and the Major, I can't really see it happening

Or, if Millsy wants to put on a Robbie Williams-esque "my shit don't stink" kinda 'tude, he could sing Let's Hear it for the Boy from the Footloose soundtrack

I want someone to sing kids in america - maybe cosima??? but she could sing material girl - get some more of that synthetic hair Rob could go with Every Breath You Take by the Police (singing to the girls and all that what not) and Shannon could sing King of Pain, also by them, cause thats one of my all time faves. To ignore Marcia's advice, Rob could go with Come on Eileen, but that could suck bad. Paulini - Walking on Sunshine or Heartbreaker

Yes, excellent songs for the both of them so I'm lookin forward to that. I can already tell by now that Levi and Millsy will be a flop due to their song choices Just my opinion but we'll just have to wait... but "Every little step" ?? hmm, I'm thinking how is that gonna showcase Levi's voice?? Maybe he'll put on a killer of a show Cosima's choice for Tina Turner should show off her voice pretty sweetly...However I KNOW it's not gonna beat Paulini's ARETHA FRANKLIN!!
