I hear that Paulini will most likely release the following song as a single off her debut album. This great song has a very organic first verse. Cut and pasted from "5th Rainham Brownies" page. Hope the Brownies didn't mind. Go Paulini!!
OH YOU'LL NEVER GET TO HEAVEN
Oh you'll never get to Heaven (repeat) In baked bean tin (repeat) 'Cos a baked bean tin (repeat) Got baked beans in (repeat) Oh you'll never get to Heaven in a baked bean tin 'Cos a baked bean tin got baked beans in
I ain't gonna grieve....... my Lord no more I ain't gonna grieve my Lord no more I ain't gonna grieve my Lord no more I ain't gonna grieve - my - Lord - no - more
Oh you'll never get to heaven... In a bottle of gin... 'Cos the Lord won't let no spirits in...
Oh you'll never get to heaven... In a jumbo jet... 'Cos the Lord ain't made... No runways yet...
Oh you'll never get to heaven... In Brown Owl's car... 'Cos Brown Owl's car... Won't go that far...
Oh you'll never get to Heaven... In Mercedes bra... 'Cos Mercedes bra... Won't stretch that far...

PAULINI: Set to release her debut album: One Determined Heart, July 2004 From the day that she auditioned for Australian Idol, Paulini was heralded as one of the most promising performers and vocalists in the competition. The soul-dynamo proved to have a vocal range beyond what anybody expected and won a dedicated legion of fans, in both the viewers and the judges, with superb and flawless renditions of tracks by Beyonce, Etta James and Aretha Franklin and her sweet, non-diva like charm. While many of her fellow Idol finalists have released albums in the one defining musical style they show-cased on Australian Idol, Paulini has emerged with a debut album that reflects who she is as a music lover and performer; an album that refuses to box her purely into one sound. One Determined Heart is a diverse collection of tunes spanning different genres and decades plus two original tracks that Paulini says will surprise fans, even though most won’t be expecting her to follow convention and release a straight-up pop or R&B album. "Because I did so many styles on idol, people kept saying, are you going to come out with something like Beyonce, or are you going to come out with something like Mariah? This album is very different, with all different styles. I love R&B but I love to sing other stuff, like old soul music and funk. I'm just happy that I’ve got all different styles on the album – it's about who I am, because I enjoy singing every musical genre.”<br> The first single off the album is Jeff Healey's 1988 classic blues-rock hit, 'Angel Eyes', that also appeared in the 1989 movie ‘Roadhouse”, starring Patrick Swazye. Now transformed into an organic and soulful ballad backed by rolling keys, Paulini says it’s one of her favourites on the album, thanks to the production wizardry of Audius. Teaming up with producer Audius, she says, was an experience she's incredibly grateful for. Co-writer of Delta Goodrem's ‘Born To Try’, Audius not only immediately connected with her ideas and musical direction as a producer but also wrote one of the original tracks on the album, 'We Can Try' (the other, 'Determined Heart', was written by Chris Palser). The foundation of the album might be rooted in R&B, but the album flaunts Paulini's classic abilities to timelessly cover different musical genres and styles of songs. Most importantly, it's all about those sensational vocals. From the straight-ahead 60's girl-pop funk of Trustmaker by The Tymes to the sultry grooves on TLC's gorgeous Waterfalls, there's something on the album for everyone. Paulini, who chose half of 14 songs on the album, says she looked for tracks by great artists and inspirational musical influences, with strong melodies and vocals that would challenge her as a performer; songs that would allow her to put her own twist on them, that she could make sound like a completely fresh track. "I absolutely love those songs. When I chose them I was thinking, I'm going to try and do something different to them. They were a little hard, because the artists are so good. What I basically did was just sing it the way I would sing it, with my kind of tone, so that whoever would listen to a track that I've done or did, would instantly be able to tell that it was me. That's what I really wanted to most from these tracks." While the future is shining bright for the young singer, for now Paulini is content to let her recent achievements sink in and enjoy every second of self-fulfilment the release of her first album brings. This is my dream come true, I wouldn't ask for anything more. Everything I have is everything I've ever dreamed of," she says." Music is definitely in my blood. Everything I've had given to me has been a god given gift. I just love to sing." Single: Angel Eyes – In store: JULY 5 Album: One Determined Heart – In Store: JULY 26
