Thanks to Angela Millsy the movie star 20 FEB 2004 LIVING proof that reality TV -- and pashing the world's most famous heirhead -- can deliver at least 15 minutes of fame is Idolite Robert "Millsy" Mills. After failing to finish in the final three, Mills kept the clock ticking by snogging Paris Hilton at the races, auditioning for Neighbours and securing a record deal with BMG, Now Confidential hears Mills is in talks to star in a locally made movie. It's called G'Day LA, suggesting it's a little like Kangaroo Jack, but worse. The plot is apparently based loosely on a true story and centres around a camel race in the outback. So look out Academy Awards, here comes Millsy. Millsy's rep, Gavin McDonough, said he had been approached but said nothing was signed yet. The producers issued a statement yesterday saying they could not confirm or deny that Mills had the gig because "negotiations are still under way between the producers of the film and his management". Meanwhile, Millsy is also hard at it penning tunes for his upcoming album. * * * RIDING high on his No.1 single and album, Shannon Noll is set to make a TV appearance of his own. Noll will fly to Fiji to appear on Channel 10's new reality show The Resort next week. It will be the Condobolin boy's first trip out of Australia. When he returns, Noll will start rehearsals for a concert tour, kicking off in Queensland and covering the rest of the country later this year. * * * AND in other Idol news, Guy Sebastian is about to make another assault on the charts. His new single All I Need Is You (yes, that Channel 10 jingle) is released on Monday -- but it's going to be a hard battle to topple Shannon from the No.1 spot. Noll's What About Me has spent three weeks on top of the ARIA singles chart.

Idling with An Idol March 2003 Smash Hits Magazine
Selling record numbers of CDs, getting brushed by other Idols and dreading Valentine's Day - SH gets the lowdown on what Guy's been up to!
He's had time to reflect on his new life…<br>"My new life is busy, tiring, inspired, surreal and the best fun I've ever had".
…And even heard his music being played everywhere. "World Idol meant I kind of missed my single being played on the radio and stuff, so when I came back from London after World Idol, it hit me. I went into the airport newsagency and I heard my song playing. And then I went past a clothes shop, and were playing my whole album! It was so cool. It was such an amazing moment."
He's flipped out at his massive record sales…. "I'm so rapt with my single and album sales and I'm absolutely stoked with my album. The single is like the highest selling single in Australian history, with is just so cool. I wrote my second single, All I need is you, so I'll be even more proud of that one".
….And decided who he wants most to work with. "Brian McKnight – he's like the king of R&B ballads, on-one does it like him. There's a tiny chance I'll get to work with him later this year and I'm so excited at just the idea of that!"
He's experienced the joy of World Idol…. "Before I went on the sing at WI, three or four idols had just been slammed. I was thinking, I'm going out into a battlefield where the judges just want ot impress each other. Then I went out here and no one said anything bad!"
….And realized not everyone's as nice as Aussies….. "I felt a bit alone at WI, there was kind of weird vibe. Dicko and I stuck together the first time but he didn't go over the second time. It was just weird that the other Idols weren't heaps friendly."
….Especially his adoring fans! "My fans are so sweet. They thought I'd be disappointed after WI so they came to the airport, and there was like 50 of them with flowers and balloons trying to cheer me up."
He's been seeing Millsy occasionally…<br>"I think is great Millsy has a record deal – he'll do well. He has this great ability to get his face into the press and stay there. I think that a great thing, and that's gonna keep him popular with the girls."
…And looking forward to Idol chart assault. "Millsy, just like Shannon, has the scope to do so well. And it's awesome because we're all so different. Bring it on!"
He's been thinking about Valentine's Day…. "I usually do stuff on Valentine's, but I'm single so it'll be depressing this year. The best Valentine's gift a girl ever gave me was something she made – I live gifts that have been made and involve thought and effort. I couldn't care les about material things."
….And is really hanging for the second Australian Idol Series "I can't wait to see the talent that comes out of woodwork. I remember jamming with heaps of really amazing people from the Top 100 who didn't get in and I really hope they come back."
******* How to get a 'fro with Guy Sebastian
Want a fantastic, full 'fro? Who better to ask for guidance that the master, Guy Sebastian....
What is the first thing you think about when Guy Sebastian is mentioned? No, we're not talking about his voice, we're talking about "that" hair. "Getting a good 'fro is a fine art, " says Guy, "but it's actually really easy. It only takes me five minutes? "Yeah, definitely. I'm not a high-maintenance guy, and luckily my image doesn't call for more that my regular hairstyle."
Well that's all well and good for Guy, but what about those of us that don't have his skills but long for some serious hair height? Get ready, cos Guy's about to show you how to get an awesome afro.
Step 1. Have curly hair Guy says: "I've got curly hair so it's easy for me to get a fro, and I guess curly hair's kind of a prerequisite for a fro. But, if you've got straight, short hair, then you could maybe get a little comb and just go crazy teasing your hair!"
Step 2. Use product Guy says: "Wash you hair, then, while it's still wet get some curl boost, which is a kind of styling cream, and rub a small amount through your whole hair."
Step 3. Blow dry Guy says: "Now get a hairdryer and blow dry your hair, but you need to do this with a diffuser (a big, round tool that attaches to the end of the hairdryer). Be sure to really scrunch up your hair as you dry it – this is how I do it and it ends up really curly and fluffy."
Step 4. Work it Guy says: "Now that your hair is dry, you have to start pulling it out and giving it more length. Use a fro comb for this – this is the essential fro tool. With the comb and you hand, pull out bits of hair a little bit at a time, and then spray it and spray it with hair lacquer until it sits nice and high."

Life FM interview Brief recap by Nel (thanks!) As I started listening Guy was talking about Shannon and what good mates they are - he then introduced Shannon's song. He was then asked which he preferred, Chico Rolls or Dim Sims - and and he answered definitely Dim Sims! A friend who had previously played with him was wondering if he had improved lol! but he said he hasn't had much time for footy lately. When asked about his music influences he mentioned Michael W Smith, Boyz 11 Men, Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Brian McKnight. He talked about his current success and says there is a season for everything, his next season may be sitting in a studio writing and producing music. A man had emailed the studio saying he was going to Japan to start up a new church and would welcome Guy - Guy said they are on as long as they provide him with Sushi! lol A young girl wanted his advice about trying out for Idol - he mentioned that 2 years ago he would not have been spiritually or emotionally ready for what he has been through. He said that for years he had been stressed frustrated about not being to do the things he wanted to do, then he handed it over to God and and believes he is now where God wants him to be. He spoke about I4U and said that it had been written with a friend of his Jarrad Rogers from Youth Alive. He said that they had written another track together about 2 nights ago. He talked about the upcoming event at Modbury and said that it was wierd because last year he was there watching Vanessa Amorosi sing and thinking what it would be like to sing to such a huge crowd! They said that Bert Newton says he becomes a recluse when he goes home after a show and asked Guy how he relaxes. Guy said he used to ride his bike but has now given it away to a friend but he now has a yellow Mazda RX8 and would like to get a Harley soon. He said his mum used to worry about him riding his bike but doesn't worry so much about the Mazda. When asked about his eyebrow - he said Jarrad has lines shaved in his eyebrow and was teasing and dared Guy to shave his. Guy said he once had the shaved thing when he was at school. When asked how he maintains a balance in his life Guy said he would be lying to say he has a balance in his life! lol He said his parents keep him grounded and tell him when he's acting like an idiot etc. He has been tripping around a bit and has been in Melbourne and Brisbane in the last few days. He's been so busy his mum didn't even get to see him last time he was in Adelaide. He said it was an honour to have his song All I Need Is You on his album - some competition songs were included because of the time factor but he hopes his next album will be his own creation. When asked if he will do a Christmas album he said probably not this year but he hopes to do a Gospel album. Sorry but that's all I can remember - it was a long and in depth interview and one of the best I've heard on radio.

Battle of the Idols November 2003 New Idea
Guy Sebastian
Guy, the afro-mopped South Australian, defies stereotypes. Although a committed Christian from a tight-knit family, he could hardly be described as predictable. At just 22, he's also shown remarkable diversity in his personal life - a talent which could take him to the top.
Born in Malaysia, he moved with his family to Melbourne, aged 6, when his Sri Lankan born dad Ivan got a posting as a Geologist. Four yrs later the family moved to Adelaide, where they joined the 4500strong congregation at Paradise Community Church. "He is comfortable about singing to large audiences - it has become second nature to him, " says Paul Zaia, the church's pastor.
Whether divine intervention will influence the outcome on Nov 19, Guy will certainly have the votes of thousands of teenage girls who have fallen for his wry smile and chubby (!) cheeks. Fans have sent him jewellery and hand-knitted beanies, and while Guy says it was never his goal to become famous, he muses: "I now realise it goes hand in hand with music."
He doesn't have a girlfriend - and he denies rumours that he's obsessed with pop sensation Delta Goodrem, who he met at the ARIA awards. "I just admire her and think she's really beautiful."
His detractors say he's lapping up the attention, but Guy is bemused by his newfound status as Australia's answer to Justin Timberlake. "Women tell me they want my children," Guy says, recalling a trip to Melbourne where he was mobbed. "A walk that should have taken 15 minutes took 2 hours." The backing of his family and a solid upbringing will keep Guy firmly anchored should IDOL catapault him to success.
He studied medical radiation at university, but found it depressing, so he decided to pursue a music career instead. Recently he's juggled two jobs, one as a recording engineer and one teaching vocals at a high school. Brian Hagger, the headmaster at Temple Christian College where Guy taught until recently, says, "If Guy wins it will be because he's there to serve rather than to be somebody."
And the truth behind the impressive afro hair? Two years ago Guy was a clean cut boy next door. "One day i just decided I wouldn't cut it," he says. "And it just grew bigger and bigger."
Shannon Noll
This young father of 2 is so quintessentially Australian that he could have steeped straight out of a Bryce Courtney novel. Not only is he a farming boy from the bush, but he's endured so much suffering tht many will feel he deserves a triumph after a couple of years of tears.
Shannon, 28, and his family are still recovering from the death of his father Neil 2 years ago. Shannon, from the tiny NSW farming community of Condobolin, calls his father, "my idol, my king."
His grandmother Kitty Noll, 85, explains, "My son Neil was killed when a fuel tank on the farm fell over. It struck him and killed him instantly."
Mrs Noll says Shannon, his older brothers and their mother Sharon were devastated by the loss but have remained stoic throughout. "You just have to go on - that's our attitude."
They have also had to endure one of the worst national droughts on record, forcing them to lease out the farm. So the chance to reverse his family's fortunes is the driving force behind Shannon's desire to win IDOL.
He plans to marry fiancee Rochelle, 28, next November, and hopes to offer greater stability for their sons Cody, 2, and Blake, eight months. "I just want to create a future for us all because we don't have one at the moment", Shannon explains.
Despite the turmoil in his life, he remains an upbeat character, renowned for being a clown. His grandmother says bluntly, "With Shannon, what you see is what you get - he calls a spade a spade."
Whatever the outcome, Shannon will remain a bloke whose attitude to life is to treat people as you would have them treat you.

Film offer for Millsy The Eye 20feb04 HE'S done Australian Idol, the glossy mags and a concert tour, dated hotel heir Paris Hilton and picked up a record deal. Now it seems it's Millsy the movie star. Box Hill boy Robert Mills has been approached to appear in a new movie called G'Day LA. But it's not a done deal yet. The film's producers said yesterday talks were still going on with Millsy's manager. We can't tell you much about G'Day LA, but the title alone conjures up awful images of another Kangaroo Jack. We're told it's based on a true story about a camel race in the outback. Millsy could star opposite an American blonde. Millsy's manager, Gavin McDonough, said his charge had read the script. Mills has already made headway into an acting career. He has been in talks over a possible role on Neighbours and has been taking acting lessons. He also knocked back hosting gigs on the revamped Video Hits and Popstars Live. But we haven't heard much from him since he signed to BMG records in January. BMG tells us he's busy writing songs and preparing to enter the studio. www.heraldsun.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5478,8730975%255E2902,00.html
