MILLSY FEATURED AT MOONEE VALLEY

Australian Idol cult hero Robert ‘Millsy’ Mills will be a star attraction at Australia’s premier harness race, the $400,000 Hankook Tyres Hunter Cup, at Moonee Valley on Saturday night, February 28.

‘Millsy’ has been snapped up by Harness Racing Victoria to sing the national anthem and perform another song for the bumper crowd before the running of the Cup.

The emerging music talent follows in illustrious footsteps with Vanessa Amorosi and Killing Heidi having headlined the Hunter Cup entertainment in recent years.

Mills signing comes hot on the heels of the announcement that glamorous model and Channel 9 personality Grace McClure will be the ‘face’ of the 2004 Sky Channel Nights Of Glory – Melbourne’s renowned harness racing carnival.

McClure reprises the role held previously by Sophie Falkiner and Krista Vendy.

“We are delighted ‘Millsy’ has taken up our offer and are certain he’ll add plenty of colour to a night renowned for its spectacular entertainment both on and off the track,” Harness Racing Victoria's General Manger – Marketing Jacqueline Novoselac said.

“Importantly, fans will get an opportunity to meet ‘Millsy’ when he sings a couple of songs in Moonee Valley’s trackside nightclub, Bar 2040, after the last race.

“Grace is wonderfully talented young lady who’ll feature in both our pre-promotion and on race nights as part of our big screen presentation.”<br>
Set to light up Moonee Valley on Saturday nights, February 21 and 28, the Sky Channel Nights Of Glory delivers a dazzling mix of live entertainment and world class harness racing to the nation’s sporting capital.

Australia and New Zealand’s best will showcase their talents in the ‘Christian Cullen’ Alabar Victoria Derby on night one and then return for the Hankook Tyres Hunter Cup and the Sky Channel Inter Dominion Trotting Grand Final on night two.

MARK Holden has turned the acid tongue he made famous on Australian Idol to the environment.

He is getting his hands dirty with the Clean Up Australia crew in an effort to see the country's beaches, parks and land spruced up.

"It's not that hard to avoid throwing your rubbish out the window. It just ends up in the ocean and waterways," Holden said. "We're basically crapping in our own back yard."

Holden and CUA state co-ordinator Verna Withers took a dive into the Melbourne Aquarium shark tank to promote the launch of Clean Up Australia Day, which begins today at Melbourne City Square from 10am.

"The shark tank was also good preparation for dealing with Dicko (fellow judge Ian Dickson) on Australian Idol 2," he said.

Keen participants can register at the launch to be part of the big clean-up on March 7, and enter the Golden Glove Celebrity Clean Up Challenge.

Members of the public will be selected and teamed up with a celebrity to take on a pile of rubbish.

It doesn't sound like much fun but there's $10,000 up for grabs -- enough to inspire a trip through some refuse.
