you r right we never really know what any person on TV is like - I think that the producers of this show wanted us to be able to label the contestants (christian, country boy, rock chick, diva, playboy etc) to get us more into it. Well we couldn't be more into it if we tried!! ;D

I also saw the Sydney concert on Australia DAy and I reckon that the voices were far better then. I think it may have something to do with the fact that when u are at a concert you are really psyched up, and also the noise is so loud that you get really overwhelmed by the voice and can hear it much better.
Cosima was not my favourite during the competition for a couple of reasons - I thought that she was portrayed a little bit DIVA-like. In fact, I originally thought that the shows producers showed her to be like that on purpose, and that probably she was a very nice person. SHe still may be a really sweet girl, but there is no doubting that she is diva-like. At the concert she 'took the opportunity' to thank everyone for their support and said that she is fighting fit and wanted to take it back to when she was unpredictable. I kinda thought this was a bit much, given it was a concert for all the idols and not just her (it was similar to the way she sort of hijacked the final voting night with her late withdrawal). Even Guy (who is after all, our Idol) tried to keep himself relatively low key.
Of course, Cosima is a much better singer and performer than I ever will be! And I wish her every luck with her future. But I must agree with all those before who say she does not have the looks enough or the appeal to make it big unfortunately. Also, I couldn't help but notice that Melbourne's televised concert saw a hoarse Cosima compared to Sydney where she just blew us all away but there was still some sweetness there in her voice - maybe she is just not cut out for all this vigorous singing?
Good luck to her though - she has made it this far and should be proud of herself. I just think that she would appeal to more if she was a little more humble...
(of course, my opinion is not really worth anything! Worth even less than the paper on which I am writing....Oh yeah, there is no paper. That tells us all how much I know!! ;D ;D ;D) Sorry if any Cos fans take offence - not meant to be rude

I agree - I was a bit shocked actually to hear her say that! I reckon that her exposure has been enormous. I wonder what has gone on behind the scenes.

Paulini is such a fantastic singer. Did anyone else see her on the Today show some time after New Year? She said that she wouldn't go on Aus Idol again knowing what she knows now. Perhaps what others alluded to earlier about turning down recording contracts is true and she is just fulfilling contractual obligations now. This is really sad that a show that brought us all so much pleasure could have made her so sad!

well said F5.
toosick: you are more than welcome to contribute to this site, even to criticise the people that we all have come to admire, but blatant rudeness is uncalled for. I feel that your denigration of the corresponders here is a little un-intellectual for someone as intelligent as your good self. I think that I speak for many to say that your witty comments would be welcomed and admired, but please do not try to go out of your way to offend.
[would love to engage in some (friendly) repartee with you at your leisure]

Either a Guy song, or sing "I don't know how to love him" just for Marcia (for all those who are too young she sang this in Jesus Christ Superstar)

I think I read that they are going to widen the age limit too so that more people can apply (probably just old bad people who will make good ads for channel ten when they make fools of themselves!)
You never know, maybe AI number 1 has awoken all this incredible Australian talent which has been brewing under our cultural surface.
(Sure whoever is AI2 won't be as good as Guy!)
