It was definately a good performance, although I get a funny feeling that he might have been a bit pitchy here and there...although I'll have to rewatch it to be sure, either way he did a good job.

He was definitely pitchy... but I think you'd only pick it up if you'd heard it as many times as Australia has!
But it was so tender. Awww.. Go Randy and Paula and the lady up the front of the audience who was applauding the whole way through! ;D

I am a fan of Guy's and i thought he did us proud. However, I thought his performance was a bit flat/safe. Looked like he was afraid to hit the high notes. Overall though, well done GUY for being the first international idol to perform on American Idol!

It was'nt one of his best performances. I thought he was a bit nervous at the first part of the song and as the song went on he got comfortable. He did end it with style. I've seen all Guy's performances many times on video clips, and I mean many times. This is the first time I've seen him nervous in a song. The producers should have given him more time to sing the complete song. It just did not sound right when a verse was chopped around the start of the song and the bridge was taken out towards the end. Overall, it was still pretty good. I hope the Americans will now start looking out for some of his better stuff.

He did hit a few flat notes and I agree he seemed a bit nervous but that's understandable given the circumstances. Overall though he did well and did Aust proud as he always does.

When I heard it on the download yesterday, yeah, I miised the high notes too!! But I am sure he was nervous and did not wanna risk it. And those of us who have heard Guy sing before would have noticed that he was pitchy. NO ONE there, well not my family and friends in the US, thought he has pitchy (except my brother who is a musician and who listens to Guy's CD everyday!!! And he's 50 years old!!!)!! They all though her was fantastic!!
So proud of him!! WOW!!
And Fantasia was mighty awesome on the night as well!!

Oh my god Fantasia is amazing I was so emotional throughout her singing, I was crying like a damn fool!! ;D The thing I've noticed is it's the singers who put their own emotions into their singing that appeal to me, Guy does that and Fantasia does that... I love them both!!

I thought he performed really well considering he's been flying around everywhere.
Flying definitely dries the throat up and he would have had plenty of flying in the last week.
He may have been nervous, knowing he had to adjust things.
BUT I still thought it was a thoroughly beautiful performance. I just missed his moving around the stage!!
