Halleujah!!!!!!!! Latoya is out of the competition!!!!!!!! She was my only problem when it came down to the top 5. I so... wanted 2 see George and Diana in the final 2. and so once George left i have become a major Diana fan and am so glad 2 see Latoya gone!!!! She is so much like Paulini (however i liked Paulini more) Latoya may have been the best singer, but she aint the best performer. She just never connected properly with her audience or AMERICA at that!! As look at Diana and Fanatasia. Latoya was just too perfect. i dont think she ever had a bad performance. i would prefer someone a bit more unique or sum1 who has grown tremendously over the competion. Im begining 2 think that this weeks performance out of the top 3, is going 2 be the deciding winner. Remember Guy? If he had never sang Climb Evry Mountain, i dont think he wouldve had as good of a chance winning. Anywayz, GO DIANA!! YOU ROK!!

I've downloaded her songs, and they weren't good. Her voice cracked a few times.

Hey Dilemma,
Yep I TOTALLY agree with you LaToya was the best singer, never gave a bad performance, and was PERFECT!!!!
She kinda reminds me of the old time singers like Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitgerald...and even Anita Baker. She has ALOT of class, no quirkiness, and is conservative. Just straight up and down a great singer!! She is TOO PERFECT in a world where the Uncool is Cool!! And she isn't quirky enuf to connect to that audience. In this day in age when the Britney's and Christina's and Jessica's are at the top of the charts it is no wonder why she didn't connect to the viewing audience!! But, I think she be alright. Great voice for Broadway, too!!! I think her fan base will largely (certainly not exclusive to, but largely) be middle to upper middle class African American in the beginning. And then she'll grow from that point. What do you think?
Well, I am hoping that Fantasia wins now!!! But I also think the others can grow into their talent. They are so young. Not as naturally gifted as Latoya...but there is always room for improvement!!!
I am glad that you have one of your favs around (so you can still be excited!) as well...Diana. Especially since your other fav, George got voted out!
Everybody, I also think that the schedule is so grueling. In every AI competition their voices start cracking toward the end of the competition (did that happen with Oz Idol?). So maybe that is why JAsmine didn't have such a good performance this week. Dunno!

It only happened to Cosima. The AI schedule was much less grueling (except for the final 2). We had much fewer final shows than the US - until the final 6, the contestants were kicked out in pairs. Also, I heard that the final 3 in AI3 have to sing 3 songs each - that only happened for our final 2. But Guy and Shannon had to go through 10 days of non-stop national touring... the poor boys looked like death by the end of it. I really hope they don't do that again this year.

Just straight up and down a great singer!! She is TOO PERFECT in a world where the Uncool is Cool!!... Hi Reggie AI3 Disco night plus eliminations played here in Australia tonight. The bottom two - Shock horror! Have to say I was so impressed with La Toya grace when she was eliminated. The way she smiled and went on to sing so beautifully. What CLASS! She was fabulous on big band night. "To close for comfort" - Loved it, loved it. She could be a big Broadway star. On the remaining contestants: Thought Diana sang really well tonight - loved "No more tears". But still hoping Fantasia wins. She is amazing and looks so beautuful up there on the stage - really owns it. Australian Idol was full on for the contestants too. Not just the singing - the public engagements and publicity stunts for the "Inside Australian Idol" show. Towards the end the producers thought it would be fun to get them all to climb to the top of the Sydney harbour bridge. It was freezing cold and windy. They're all singers - hello!

hey SoCrazy!!! Yea, I watched the show last nite too. (I am a Yank but I live here in Oz now! Yeah!!) Anyway, Latoya is just SOOOOOO classy. I agree, she just handled herself SO well. She will do just fine...sure of it!! Did you she Jasmine reach over to slap Diana hand the "High Five" after they announce Fantasia was in the bottom 2?? What was that about. If anyone can explain that please do. Seemed so odd. Fantasia is my choice now..she is the best that the competition has to offer now (my first choice was Latoya...fantasia second). Jasmine just was really bad on the night. But like Simon said it is up to the American public and it is subjective. Also, maybe her voice is just strained and tired like I said!! Okay, bye for now SoCrazy. I am channeling Fantasia good thoughts and good luck!!! And, oh yeah....Randy did look very cute last night!!! Reg
