She said "you are affected" cos Paula saw her acting "normal" outside the audition room, but when she went int othe audition room, she acted like a whole diferent person and said she was acting "fake" and stuff... Thanks mango! All I can say to Paula is "hmmmmmmmmmmm"

But she was good and deserved to make it through. The contestants grow throughout the show and at 16 maybe she doesn't know her self enough yet. I thought it an unfair comment even if she did come over a bit cocky. But they feed you want they want you to see don't they. I wish with the bad contestants they would just say no and next. I get fed up seeing the terrible thinking they are great.

One more thing (please forgive this ignorant bum), did anyone notice that there was some kind of "pre-selection" thing going on before the proper judges came.
At the start of the show you see a large collection of people inside some oval or stadium singing to four of 5 people/judges.
If there is a pre-selection then I why did they accept the bad singers into the proper judging.
Was there a pre-selection in aus idol?

I think they separate the really worst and the best, supposedly its entertaining watching people humiliate themselves on tv.

My favourite part of the Houston auditions, that still makes me giggle thinking about it now, is the chick who came on and the judges said she sounded like a **giggle** ghost. And she kept saying "I'm just nervous, let me try again" and was trying to sing a Celine Dion song. Hee hee hee, and Randy said, "It was scary, because the more she sang, the worse the storm got" hee hee hee. My sister and I were in tears...
Anyways, off to watch some telly and help make some din din!

Was there a pre-selection in aus idol? Yep, sure was. There is a pre-selection in every idol where every wannabe has to sing infront of produces and only the best and worst make it through to the judges. The ones that aren't entertaining in n e way get sent home.

The ones that aren't entertaining in n e way get sent home. I was wondering whether the "worst" who get selected into the studio were told that ie. were they told they were in to the main panel because they were really bad? Probably not I reckon. The "bad" people probably thought they got in because they were good.....hmmmm....no wonder some were a bit angry at the main judges when told they weren't good.

That army girl was not that bad (forgot her name >.<...). I thought she had this spunky/bubbly personality not to mention a good voice too.
I didn't mind the judges. Simon's really direct/blunt - but at least he seems honest with his feelings/thoughts, which is what I like about him. Randy's a bit of a goon - but I don't think he is as bad as Mark Holden.
