guy should be 660/1. he's no hope - he fluked winning the aussie version because the public had a collective brain explosion and got rid of the super-talented Paulini
I put that down to jealousy - look at any Australian show based on popular votes. The average and inoffensive always triumph over the talented and splendid because the Australian public is so deeply suburban, and so deeply scared of those who are talented and/or unusual
if Paulini had strutted her stuff before the world, she would be now be a prohibitive 1/40 favourite

How can Guy fluke making it past the auditions, the top 40, and 11 other Australian Idol finalists? Guy earned his spot as the Australian Idol.

slack dont even get me started on paulini and why she didnt win, he perfomances were predictable.... you could tell when and what she was gonna do and a performance that is perdictable is a performance that gets tired pretty quickly. "collective brain explosion" this would be only because all of a sudden people realised exactly what they were doing, and to vote for guy. as for being afraid of something different, what makes you think that paulinis any different to whitney houston?, alicia keys?, or anyone else... bi8tch please
P.S guys odds are different no matter where you go, its just people betting, anyone can take a stab at it, maybe people dont like taking safe bets anymore.... im sure that most people betting are from that singers home country.

the great artists are all "predictable" - hear one bar and you know it is Sinatra, one glimpse at a dark brown canvas and you know it is Rembrandt. It's not called being predictable, it's called having a distinctive voice and it is a mark of the truly talented
being "unpredictable" is a hallmark of the charlatan and the carnival hustler. speeding up bits of a slow song doesn't make you a musical genius, it makes you a gimmick merchant. the true greats stand on their own talents, without resorting to sleight of hand or smoke and mirrors

I'm so glad that Guy has international support ;D At least World Idol was worth it in that respect. Hey Chicago! Yep, yep!! I agree...was totally worth it. Imagine all of the industry folks that saw Guy sing. His song selection was not the best. (but was cool that he went out on a limb and did something different) Anyway, I am sure that folks in the music industry could still hear that he has a great and unique voice!! Why didn't he sing Climb Every Mountain?? The download sounded awesome! Baffles the mind!

and so deeply scared of those who are talented and/or unusual Guy is both talented and unusual. Talented: If you'd actually listened to him you'd know. Unusual: Definitely (in a good way of course!!!). How many people go to church (even sing at church) and at the same time have a strong sense of humour and are nice and "cool" . Guy has shown Australia that not only 100 yr old grannies go to church and that church-going people aren't nerds. And what about the FRO? ;D That's unusual. Paulini-- i like her-- she's talented, but what's so unusual about her? Guy's original-- his voice, his attitude (towards God, people and music) and his style...

Why didn't he sing Climb Every Mountain?? The download sounded awesome! Baffles the mind! Apparently Simon Fuller picked Climb Every Mountain for Guy to sing but he begged to do Wonderful World. Then again, Alicja really didn't want to sing "I Don't Know How To Love Him" but she was still made to perform that. So most likely they chose What A Wonderful World for Guy to sing.

Did people like Kurt because he was a talented and unique singer or did they like him because he sang a U2 song that everyone you speak to seems to love and managed to sound enough like Bono singing it as to make it convincing.
If the latter that's not the mark of a true artist, that's the mark of someone having a talent for impersonating and imitating someone else and the title should be changed to Karaoke Idol instead. We already have the best in Bono do we really need a sub-standard copy
I still think he'll win though because people love the song, love the cute Hobbit tag that makes him seem adorable and feel sympathetic towards him after being called ugly by Simon Cowell.
It would be a fitting win to a farcical show I think

It would be a fitting win to a farcical show I think Please listen to more of Kurts songs before you label him a karaoke singer... Its not his fault that his great voice sounds like Bono's when he does that song, cause he sings it his own way... (I suggest Fenrik Lane - Ebony if you wanna hear him more ) But to criticise him a bit, I think he's more suited as the lead of a band perhaps. Cause you dont get much of a stage performance from him. But with a top band he would have a great potential! Its like when I saw your Guy's performance on World Idol... I must say that I hated that version of What a Wonderful World (Ok, hate is a far too strong word, but I disliked it... its my taste, so you gotta live with it ). Yet, I wont label him as talentless cause I didnt like that one song. To be true I think you cant avoid hearing that he has an original twist that we need, there are more than enough Kelly's in the world (though she's very good at what she does, just that we got enough Alicias). Personally I like Kurt's voice better as it fits better to the music I like, more rock-like. But I think maybe Guy suits better to go solo, and I guess thats whats gonna happen to the winner.
