Just thought id take a look round to see what everyones been saying about Ian, cus its pretty weird for me since he's my uncle. Im 16 and from Bham UK, and he's been sending me the pop idol tapes, which are pretty fab. Its amazing to see someone from my family get famous. Nobody's heard of him over here so its madness to see (most of) you loving him over there. He's incredibly funny to be around and ive missed him and my cousins like a bitch since he moved to australia.

hey geogia, most of us think your uncle's pretty cool (Some of the people in the forum think other flattering things about him too but anyway...) exept for those who dislike the way he approaches holdens comments. "we need a dictionary for him". But even rove couldn't understand holden at times "yank a shank!?" I understand what it's like to hear poeple talking about a family member when they don't even know them. it's definatally a weird thing for people our age to go through.

i cant imagine what it must be like for my cousins, 3 years ago they were very english sounding, and now you wouldnt even think they'd ever come from the UK listening to them speak! My australian accent's appaling, i must say. Haha, its fucking hilarious that some of you think mel (his wife) looks like his mom, i bet she loves that...

At least you can still tell that dicko's english! My sister's over in england at the moment on a working holiday and might come back with an english accent.(which she'd love) It must be chaos for your cousins with all of australia trying to get a peice of dicko's time. I don't think that would be verry flattering for your aunty. If you think about it dicko's 40. So people must think that she's about 60! Don't worry about your australian accent being bad, I'm sure it can't be worse than some of my friends accents when they pretend to be English!

I take a similar approach to accents as the good ol adage "when in rome". I'm about to head off to NZ so we'll see how it works out, I mean it isnt that different is it?
