Reaction to the audition process is still causing concern for many parents and contestants.
Some viewers are also concerned about the misrepresenation of the audition process as seen on TV. It would appear from the show that all contestants- the good, the bad and the ugly-- audition in front of the judges. But this was not the case.
Only after auditioning in front of various Australian Idol producers were contestants allowed to come back, in some cases the next day (told to wear the same clothes they came in), to audition in front of the three judges, Ian, Mark and Marcia.
This part of the audition process was over looked and may have given some contestants false hope-- but in reality were allowed to progress to the next stage only to be ridiculed and critised by the judges.
Received this email from deb:--
my son auditioned and was laughed at and told he sucked by the judges. The whole thing was a set up, ( the day before after seeing 2 sets of judges who praised him to the sky) it was all done for media entertainment with no thought given to the kids feelings or respect for the fact that they had the guts to get up there and give it a go.

Hey Deb Did it occur to you that maybe, just maybe, he did suck? Some contestants had no talent at all then got upset when they were told so. If you ask me, they should not have tried out in the first place then they wouldn't have been critisized by the judges. Its a TV show after all. They need to grow up and take responsibilty for their own actions instead of blaming everyone else.
