AT LAST!!!!!!!!!!! Chanel is FINALLY rid of! I didnt know how much more i could take! It took Australia all this time to see she how bad she was!!!
Last nights performance just said it all, she can't do different genres!!!!!! It wasn't even R&B/Soul, it was more jazz than anything...SORRY, NOT ALLOWED!!!!!
Oh and i apologise on behalf of Australia to Blu Cantrell, for Chanel's extremely bad version of her song. I'm so glad we won't have see that sucking up anymore and faking that she cares about her fellow idols, it was all such a put on.
Now that we've gotten rid of all the rejects (excluding angie), we can get down to business... actually let me tweek that a bit, hayley should certainly not be there, as much as i don't like this person it should have been ricki-lee.
And you know what, i'll watch the final and all, and i wish whoever wins the best of luck for their future endeavours, but it doesn't fuss me who wins... i really couldn't give a crap, and i think thats how alot of the Australian public feel about the contestants in Australian Idol this year.

Yay!
Chanel is gone!
I am so glad! I was so sick of having an Idol contestant who would engage my brain and perform these boring as batshit subtle performances with nuances and crap like that! And she never hit any high notes, so she can't be good. It's about time someone like this left.
I hated her so much. Go Anthony! He has a great voice, and always has that key change thing! His version of "The Prayer" is the best song I've ever heard since Justin Timberlake's "Rock Your Body".
GO ANTHONY~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111

I think Chanel has 100 different personalities going on in her head. I am glad she's gone. Courtney and Casey rock. Anthony gives me the shits and Hayleys sweet but not Idol material. Go Courtney

Yay! Chanel is gone! I am so glad! I was so sick of having an Idol contestant who would engage my brain and perform these boring as batshit subtle performances with nuances and crap like that! Dude, that's not your brain being engaged... Seriously, I've loved some of Chanel's stuff - she can be a great performer and an okay singer. She was by far my favourite early on, and Glorybox was my favourite performance in the semifinal rounds. But she's also failed, and failed spectacularly, and (to me anyway) become less and less likeable as the season has progressed. With a few exceptions, her performances have been all pretentious theatrics and affected mannerisms. Eww. It was all getting a bit much already. And I think she's one of the few people who inside idol and all that stuff has NOT helped. It exposed her as being overall a bit light on sincerity and too try-hard cutesy. For craps' sake, the 16 year olds seemed more authentic than her, and she's a decade older than them! Chanel can be good at what she does, but in the end that's all she does and it gets old pretty quickly. So yes, go Anthony. Although I wouldn't mark him a clear favourite of mine, I still have more respect for him than Chanel despite his bubblegum-pop tendencies. He hasn't had to resort to being (or trying to be, at any rate) a smart-ass and all the other ridiculous things Chanel said and did to get this far. So there - he's still here, she's gone and no amazingly lame sarcasm is going to change that. Cya Chanel Don't trip on your fake antics on the way out.

ok maybe its just me but they all have a market and its not like chanel wont have an album please remember that rob mills paulini, cosima shannon and guy all have good careers in the australian music scene and have all enjoyed success on the aria charts.
this season it might go further on into the top 12 with the "fan fav" to have been ricki - lee im sure peopel will be looking forward to hear her cd. so i think at this stage of the competition whether yo ulike them or not their gonna be around for awhile from the potential winner all the way down to the seventh person out which was ricki lee.
cool beans anthony
ps - my standings are still
4. courtney 3. hayley 2. anthony 1. casey

Personally I don't see why people think she's fake, or trying to be 'cutesy'.

She was fake and she was trying to be cutesy...
And the key word here is WAS shes not in it anymore... yay!
I'm so glad to see the back of her... she pissed me off every week!
And to claim she was alternative and going on a show like Austalian Idol which primarily launches POPcareers says it all...
And it was said perfectly in i think it was NW magazine in the Australian Idol behind the scenes section a few weeks back that fans of Australian Idol get really annoyed with Chanel cause she just an aggravating person and alot of the people behind the back don't like her much either.
Once again... THANK GOD SHE'S GONE!!! ;D ;D

She pissed you off so you wanted to post this to piss other people off? No, not in the comp anymore. But she still has a whole music career in front of her. And I can't wait. The reason she entered Australian Idol is because she watched it last year (like many of them did I suppose) and she loved the fact that they accepted people who were different and didn't try to mould them into something they weren't. Perhaps her opinion changed over the time she was in the series... I don't know. But there was nothing wrong with her entering this competition. It's Australian Idol, not Pop Idol. (yes I know that that's what the British's version is called... but it's not ours) Geez, I'm sorry that I want the Australian Idol to be a little individual and write their own songs As for the bloody magazines - I admit that I love reading articles about Australian Idol and tee hee over all the gossip. But it's just that - gossip. A lot of stuff that goes in these magazines is made up. Example: There was an article about the final 12 way back when it was...well still the final 12. They said Chanel had been acting diva-ish and demanded she be allowed to keep a pair of shoes. Now... on Idol Extra that weekend.. when Andrew and James were interviewing some of the contestants - the subject came up and both Courtney and Amali said it was lies, with Courtney even stating "we love her to bits and there's nothing dival about her at all". These are words from their mouths in a program that channel 10 have not much control over....and I'd tend to believe them more than a magazine article. Also from Idol Extra... it's obvious that Chanel wasn't disliked.

Hi KylieKay, Ummm, how could Chanel have NOT possibly known that the whole IDOL thing is about format? ? Everybody knows that. Ya gotta sing certain genre of songs while on da show. That happened last year and this year. And will happen in future years. Umm, dats da show! Geez! As far as her feelin that she wouldn't be able to be an "Individual" (well, maybe not while she was in IDOL..but as I said if she did watch the show last year as claimed...she would have known this. The show IS about the format, in part) that is perplexing . Look at GUY (yes, he had to pay his dues and do it on his second album but hey, we all pay our dues in life. And I think many songs on his first album, like Beautiful Friend, 3 Words were magnificient!). He has dropped an R&B album here in OZ. How many R&B singers or albums do you see here on da charts? So, there is proof that someone who got their start on IDOL can in fact do the kinda music that they have a passion for. I just think she is savvy, she got her name out there in the public, and now she can do her own thing on her very first album. Really, good for her! I was definitely beginning to tire of her antics and bag of tricks on the show. It just got boring, same thing over and over, but I never actually tired of her voice. She has a lovely voice, really pretty. Good luck to her. I hope that she does well. I will probably buy her album...just not watch her videos cus the sex kitten/lil girl thingy that she does... !!! ;D GOOD LUCK TO CHANEL!

Geez, I'm sorry that I want the Australian Idol to be a little individual and write their own songs Don't be sorry!! It is one of the reasons that most of us here on this board respect GUY's talent soooooo much. He awesome voice, can write his own songs (has in fact written the majority on his new album and several on his first), can arrange, and can play musical instruments!! And he is brave for puttin out an R&B album here in OZ where OZ Pop and Rock rule! Can't get more individual than that!!!
