I hope this will end the 'Gabriel is better than Guy' argument and comparisons. Amen.

wildcard is a big posibility becasue no matter what any one thinks OVER 50,000 PEOPLE AUDITIONS AND TOP 30 IS A GREAT ACHEIVEMENT AND I AM SURE, NOT MANY PEOPLE WILL GET A CHANCE LIKE HE DID, MANY MORE WILL BE ELIMINATED AS THE SHOW PROGRESSES
GABRIEL IS ONE OF THE MOST TALENTED SINGERS IN A2 THIS YEAR---------

I love this thing Gabriel does, he has a nice nasal tone to his voice & theres points (especially in Careless Whisper) where he looks like hes gonna pass out, nice performance, but lower than expected sorry

i absolutely LOVE gabriel BIGTIME!!! he's sooooo talented and wat a freakin HOTTIE! he looked awesome on Sunday and he sang the song realli well but the song was unfortunately not good enuff for his voice, to showoff his voice to max and that was the big disappointment i recon. purely, bad song choice.
if he gets through wildcard i'm supporting him allll the way bigtime

I have known Gabriel since he was in primary school. He was the best singer in the world then. He sang in the school end of year musical that was based around the story of the birth of Jesus. He played a character that was one of the three wise men. He was so good that they turned his character into the main character. I think he got into the top 30 by singing songs that melt people's hearts - songs from his Christian upbriging. I love the song "careless whisper" but it didn't induce tears. I think good Australian Idol performances should definitely induce tears. (of joy)

Firstly moon: Mexico is not in the US. It is a country in it's own right.
Secondly, Gabriel was a loser. I liked him in his audition and then this attitude was suddenly exuded in each of his next few and his voice faltered a helluva lot, esp. in his cruelly and unjust desecreation of One Sweet Day... I mean, was there REALLY a need to ruin a classic?
I'm still befuddled as to why so many were reduced to tears, it was terrible.
The only thing he had a talent at, was looking too much like Ali G.
Sorry if that's harsh, but I don't care - I can only hope we never hear any "music" from him in the future.

I agree with you it was a pity i hope this year 2005 idols the public will get it right not like voting in the wrong winner like last year, from your the list the only contestant i have heard perform live is Gabriel Cabrera at this years Youth Week festival in sydney, i tell you what he can realy sing for sure, people were screaming his name 9000 people turned up this year, i attended last years one only 6000 peolple went throught the gates.

Cabrera's voice would be about as mellifluous as the sound of diarrhoea being sucked through a football sock.

Arguing who is better between Cabrera and Sebastian is like arguing over who is better between Milat and Glover.
